Year of Legends
Throughout 2017, Wales will be showcased as the place to visit for epic cultural and heritage experiences. 2017 has been marked by the Welsh Government as ‘The Year of Legends’. Bringing the past to life like never before, while creating and celebrating new Welsh legends.
Wales is a nation steeped in myths and legends and so it’s no surprise that following on from ‘The Year of Adventure’, The exciting promotional campaign aims to inspire visitors, and the people of Wales, to explore more of the country’s distinctive history, culture, heritage and mythology - as well as adding a more contemporary edge to the portrayal of Welsh legends.
Carmarthenshire has a great opportunity to shine in 2017 – being home to famous legends such as Merlin, Twm Siôn Cati, the Physicians of Myddfai, the Lady of the Lake and Twrch Trwyth, Hywel Dda, Dylan Thomas, to name just a few – as well as a whole host of emerging legends.
