The Health and Wellbeing team support the physical and mental wellbeing of employees equally by providing advice, guidance, and signposting, as well as offering focused and practical solutions for managers.  In doing so, we aim to help protect both our workforce and the Authority in the immediate and longer-term future.

We have signed up to the Time to Change pledge which shows our continued commitment to supporting the mental wellbeing of all employees and reducing mental health stigma in the workplace.

The authority also has a network of Mental Health First Aid’ers to support this.

The authorities Health & Wellbeing Champions support the Health and Wellbeing Coordinators in raising awareness, being proactive and promoting good health and wellbeing for all.

An employee can be referred by their line manager to Occupational Health at any point, there is no need to be off work.

Depending on your job role, you may be asked to attend for Health Surveillance this is to protect your health.

The authority has maintained the Platinum Corporate Health Standard award since 2009. This is a Healthy Working Wales (HWW) awards programme which aims to support and encourage employers to create healthy working environments, take action to improve the health and wellbeing of their staff, manage sickness absence well and engage with employees effectively, all of which can help to achieve a range of positive business and organisational outcomes.
