Recycling centre permit exemption

Adapted vans / pickups do not need a permit to use the recycling centre. However, you will need to apply for an exemption.

To apply for an exemption, you will need to provide:

  • Your details
  • Vehicle make, model and registration
  • Description of vehicle adaptations
  • Photos of your vehicle showing adaptations. You do not need to provide photographs, but it will help us assess your vehicle.

Please email the Recycling Team with this information at:  ENVHWRCChanges@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

When we’ve received your application one of our recycling advisors will be in touch to verify your vehicle has been adapted before you will be able to use the facilities. They may need to visit you to carry out additional checks.

If your application is approved, you will be provided with an exemption notice. The exemption notice will show the make, model and registration of your vehicle, it cannot be used on any other vehicle.

You will need to display this in your vehicle at the recycling centre to use the facilities.

You will not need to renew your exemption notice but if you change your vehicle and still require an exemption you will need to re-apply.
