Aside from the extensive programme we offer at our leisure centres, we deliver 16 health-related physical activity sessions each week in six outreach venues across Carmarthenshire:
- Llandybie Memorial Hall
- Llanwrda Village Hall
- Trallwm Community Hall, Llanelli
- St Mary’s Catholic Church, Carmarthen
- Princess Gwenllian Hall, Kidwelly
- Ammanford Pensioners Hall
The sessions focus mainly on improving strength and balance of the participants to reduce their risk of falling. The sessions provide expert advice and support and provide people with the tools to remain independent.
National Exercise Referral Scheme
NERS is funded by Public Health Wales. The scheme aims to improve the physical and mental health of client referrals with a diverse range of conditions including patients who have suffered strokes or heart attacks, cancer, angina, diabetes and emphysema. Patients need to be referred by their GP or hospital. The scheme offers around 80 exercise sessions each week at Actif Fitness centres in Llanelli, Carmarthen, Ammanford and Newcastle Emlyn.
