Garden Waste

Home composting is one of the most environmentally-friendly and cost-effective ways of dealing with garden waste. Around one third of our waste can be easily composted at home – from garden clippings to cardboard, tea bags and paper.

If you cannot compost at home, please use your nearest recycling centre.

Garden waste collection service

If you cannot do either of the above, we do offer a seasonal garden waste collection service.

You will be provided with a 240 litre wheeled bin which will be emptied fortnightly. Collections this year start on the week commencing March 12 and will run until November 30.

If you pay in full when you apply you will receive a 15% discount so you will pay £42 for the season, or you can pay in instalments by Direct Debit, this will cost a total of £49.42.

Your garden waste bin must be placed at the same location as your rubbish/recycling. It must be put out before 6am on your collection day (and no earlier than 6pm the evening before).

Existing customers

If you are an existing customer, you will receive a letter and invoice in the post in early January to advise you on how to continue with / cancel the service.

Pay your invoice

If you signed up to pay by Direct Debit, your first instalment will be taken on April 1 2018. If you wish to cancel your service or notify us of any changes, please email ENVGardenWaste@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

All garden waste must be placed loose inside the bin (please do not use any bags). Any waste placed outside of the bin will NOT be collected.

Yes put it in...

No leave it out...

Your bin will NOT be emptied if it contains items that are not allowed. Regular contamination will be investigated and if it continues the service may cease.
