Recycling centres (the tip)

There are four main recycling centres and more than 170 recycling banks across the county. To find your nearest Recycling Bank/Centre please visit i-Local and click on Recycling and Bins.

If you know of a suitable location in your area for a recycling bank please call us on 01267 234567 with your suggestions, we will consider any sites proposed.

Nantycaws HWRC, Llanddarog Road, Nantycaws, Carmarthenshire SA32 8BG

Summer opening times (April 1 - Sep 30) 
Mon – Sun: 8.30am-7pm

Winter opening times (Oct 1 – March 31) 
Mon - Sun 8.30am - 5pm

The site is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve 8.30am – 12pm

Some items may incur a charge for disposal at this site:

  • Tyres, gas bottles, fire extinguishers and whole sheets of asbestos.
  • Plasterboard and bagged asbestos – up to three double bagged bags free, thereafter a charge will be incurred.

Wernddu HWRC, Trapp Road, Wernddu, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire SA18 2NE

Winter opening times (Oct 1 – March 31)
Mon - Sun 8.30am - 5pm

The site is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve 8.30am – 12pm

  • No Gas bottles or Tyres

Some items may incur a charge for disposal at this site:

  • Fire extinguishers and whole sheets of asbestos
  • Plasterboard and bagged asbestos – up to three double bagged bags free, thereafter a charge will be incurred
  • Tyres and gas bottles are not accepted.

Whitland HWRC, West Street, Whitland Carmarthenshire SA34 0AE

Summer opening times (April 1 - Sep 30) 
Mon – Sun: 8.30am-7pm

Winter opening times (Oct 1 – March 31) 
Mon - Sun 8.30am - 5pm

The site is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve 8.30am – 12pm. It will also be closed when a large sale is being held at the agricultural mart next door for health and safety reasons.

Some items may incur a charge for disposal at this site:

  • Tyres, gas bottles, fire extinguishers and whole sheets of asbestos
  • Plasterboard and bagged asbestos – up to three double bagged bags free, thereafter a charge will be incurred

A four black bag limit will be introduced from Monday, January 30.

You can take the following items to our *main recycling centres (tip):

Glass, cans, paper, textiles, books, shoes, cardboard, plastic, scrap metal, green waste, juice cartons, cooking & engine oil, car batteries, household batteries, mobile phones, printer cartridges, fridges, electrical items, wood, bikes, furniture, polystyrene, rags & household textiles, CDs & DVDs, paint, fluorescent tubes, asbestos, low energy light bulbs, gas bottles, plasterboard, rubble, carpet, mattresses, tyres.

(*Except Wernddu which doesn't allow gas bottles or tyres)

If you have missed your blue bag collection, you can also take your blue bags to the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
