Rehabilitation is about maximising an individual's ability to be as independent as possible. It is an holistic approach and aims to improve, maintain or restore an individual's physical strength, cognition and function. Individuals may benefit from rehabilitation for a number of reasons such as illness, injury or following surgery.

The rehabilitation services are short-term programmes delivered by a multi-disciplinary team. The rehabilitation programme will be designed with and around the individual to help them achieve optimal independence and maintain or improve their quality of life.

This can be achieved in a number of ways but may include confidence building, improving physical strength, teaching the individual new skills and techniques or advising on appropriate equipment or adaptations to promote independence. It is focused on enabling the individual to reach their optimum functional abilities, promote independence and maximise safety.
