Community Safety

Community SafetyCarmarthenshire remains one of the safest areas in the country.

Crime levels are very low, and the Dyfed-Powys police force area as a whole is the safest region in the whole of the UK.

However, we must not become complacent and we need to continue to work together to address the problems identified by local communities to ensure that we all feel safe in the area in which we live.

The Carmarthenshire Community Safety Partnership (CSP) targets the main crime and disorder problems throughout the county by identifying what they are, where they’re happening and to whom.

Domestic Homicide Review

In April 2011, the Government implemented Section 9 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004.  This means that the local areas are expected to undertake a multi-agency review, following a domestic homicide, to assist all those involved in the review process, in identifying the lessons that can be learned with a view to preventing further homicides and violence.

Below is a full report and executive summary of a review undertaken in Carmarthenshire.
