The County Of Carmarthenshire (The C2205 Heol Nazareth, Pontyates And The C2204 From Its Junction With The C2205 Nazareth Road) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the C2205 Heol Nazareth, Pontyates (SA15 5TN) from a point 691 metres Southwest of its junction with the B4309 for a distance of 1.3 Kilometres in a general North Westerly direction. Also, the C2204 from its junction with the C2205 Nazareth Road for a distance of 595 metres in a general South Westerly direction.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.
The alternative route for North Westbound diverted traffic wishing to travel along the C2205 will be to travel in a North Easterly direction along the C2204 to its junction with the B4309 at Pontyates. At the junction turn left onto the B4309 and proceed in a general North Westerly direction along the B4309 to its junction with the C2057 at Meinciau. At the junction turn left onto the C2057 and proceed in a South Westerly direction towards Four Roads. At Four Roads, turn left onto the C2204 and proceed in a general South Westerly direction then Southerly direction passing Glynfach Bungalow to return to a point Northwest of the closure. Vice Versa for South Eastbound diverted traffic.
The alternative route for North Eastbound traffic wishing to travel on Heol Nazareth via the C2204 would be to travel in a South Westerly direction along the C2204 towards Cwmbach Cottage. At the junction turn right onto the C2204 and proceed in a general North Easterly then North Westerly direction to its junction with the C2057 at Four Roads. At the junction turn right onto the C2057 and proceed in a North Easterly direction to its junction with the B4309. At the junction turn right onto the B4309 and proceed in a general South Easterly direction through Meinciau to its junction with Heol Nazareth at Pontyates. At the junction turn right onto Heol Nazareth and proceed in a South Westerly direction to return to a point Northeast of the closure. Vice Versa for South Westbound diverted traffic.
The proposed Order will continue in force whilst works are carried out on behalf of Openreach to carry out cabling work by accessing overhead poles.
It is intended that the works commence on Thursday 8th January 2026 to Thursday 15th January 2026 between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 hours.
Where appropriate temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months.
