Sustainable Communities Fund

Calls for applications for support from the Rural Sustainable communities fund are now open.

This dedicated fund is made available by the LEADER programme is to support community assets to access financial support to improve organisations to become more sustainable.

Eligible activities

The following list (yet not exhaustive) includes examples of items which will be eligible for consideration for funding;

  • Solar photovoltaic battery
  • Grid linked battery storage system (where the tariff is with a renewable energy supplier)
  • Electric Bike charging points
  • Electric bike storage facilities
  • Energy efficiency measures that support community assets
  • Electric vehicle charging points
  • Specialist revenue services e.g. energy audits, sustainability reports
  • Projects that can demonstrate sustainable actions as a result of LEADER assistance

The Offer

  • Total project costs cannot exceed £10,000
  • Each grant award will be based on no more than 80% of the total project cost (capped at 10k)
  • Cash match funding of at least 20% will be required from each eligible applicant

Projects must be fully complete by 30 November 2022 and will need to demonstrate that the timeline posed is feasible.

Deadline for submission: Friday 22 July 2022

Community Assets Support Fund 

This fund will provide for financial support for new activities and/or services to be delivered from Community Assets across rural Carmarthenshire.

The Offer 

  • Total project costs cannot exceed £10,000. Please contact LEADER team should your project costs exceed £10k to discuss options.
  • Each grant award will be based on no more than 80% of the total project cost (capped at 10k)
  • Cash match funding of at least 20% will be required from each eligible applicant

This project has received finding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
