The LEADER programme is being managed by the Carmarthenshire Local Action Group, Grŵp Cefn Gwlad, which has extensive experience in managing rural development programmes since 2000 (*). Since its inception, Grŵp Cefn Gwlad has managed more than £23m of investment from rural regeneration programmes.

With the commencement of the new Rural Development Plan for Wales (2014-2020), Grŵp Cefn Gwlad has developed a Local Development Strategy (LDS) which sets out some of the key challenges and opportunities facing rural Carmarthenshire. To support the implementation of the strategy, Grŵp Cefn Gwlad has been successful in securing funding via the Rural Development Plan to trial innovative ways of achieving the objectives of the LDS.
