Why are we consulting

This proposal has been prepared in response to Carmarthenshire County Council’s Welsh in Education Strategic Plan and the Welsh Medium Education Strategy in line with Welsh Government Policies. The proposal to move Ysgol Y Ddwylan, Ysgol Griffith Jones, Ysgol Llangynnwr and Ysgol Llys Hywel along the Welsh language continuum will help the authority achieve their vision of a bilingual Carmarthenshire and support the Welsh Government’s aim of achieving a million Welsh speakers by 2050.
Further information in relation to the proposals and the need for a change in nature of provision at Ysgol Y Ddwylan, Ysgol Griffith Jones, Ysgol Llangynnwr and Ysgol Llys Hywel can be found in the attached consultation document.
