Unpaid Carers Survey 2018

  • Consultation period: 10/07/2018 - 01/09/2018 ~ 00:00
  • Audience: Carers
  • Area: Carmarthenshire
  • Council department / service: Chris Harrison, Housing, Public Protection and Care and Support Services

Why are we consulting

We are conducting a survey to establish how unpaid carers in Carmarthenshire feel about themselves, their circumstances and any support they receive, so we can develop some actions to try and improve carers’ circumstances.

A carer is anyone who carers, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.

How to get involved

We are seeking involvement on line and across networks. Using partner providers and commissioned services to encourage completion of the survey. The emphasis is to establish a baseline and to have something to measure from in the future.

Establishing an action plan to address issues identified by the survey will involve consultation through focus groups and workshops with carers who will be included in the outcomes from the survey.

Next Steps

The Strategic Partnership Board for Carers will oversee the work of developing the plan. Feedback from consultation will form the basis of co-production with stakeholders from the public (carers) and partners (Health and Social care, third sector and representative groups).
