Wildlife in your ward

Why are we consulting

The Carmarthenshire Nature Partnership has funding for a project to create ‘Wildlife in Your Ward Profiles' for wards in the county. We really need the help of local communities from each ward who know their local area best.

We would love it if you could tell us:

  • about the wildlife you see locally - what kinds of birds, mammals, fungi, plants, insects or reptiles do you see in your ward – from species you see all year round, to summer visitors, the common as well as the rare.
  • your favourite walking or cycling routes where you live,
  • the best places to see nature in your ward - woods, meadows, rivers, bogs, marshes, coastline, park, hedgerow, or it might even be your own garden.

We would also like you to send us photos of the wildlife and habitats in your local area that we could use in the profile (all photos will be credited).

To find out the boundary of your ward go to our 'In my area' page and choose Electoral Ward from the drop down.

How to get involved

Please send us your photos and comments to: Biodiversity@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

Next Steps

The profiles will be to local schools, community councils and other groups to use, share and hopefully encourage all to take a closer look at what is around us.
