The County Of Carmarthenshire (Class III Road Leading To Llanybri, From Its Junction With The A40 St Clears) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that length of the Class III Road leading to Llanybri, from its junction with the A40 St Clears, for a distance of 860 meters in a southerly direction.
Pedestrian and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.
The Alternative Route for northbound traffic will be to proceed along the Class III Road leading to Llanybri for a distance of approximately 3km in a general south-easterly direction to the junction signposted Llangynog. Turn left at the junction and follow the Class III Road for a distance of approximately 5km in a general north-easterly direction, passing properties known as Ty-Canol Farm, Derlwyn, and Eithinman, to the junction prior to entering the village of Llangynog. At the junction, turn left and follow the road for a distance of 2.4km to the junction with the A40 St Clears (Westbound). Turn left and proceed along the A40 towards St Clears to return to a point north of the closure.
The Alternative Route for Southbound traffic will be to proceed in a north-easterly direction along the A40 St Clears (Eastbound), to the slip road with the A40 Nant Y Ci. At the slip road, bear left and continue in a northerly direction to Carmarthen West Link Roundabout. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit and continue in a general south-westerly direction along the B4312 St Clears Road to the junction with the slip road. Bear right on the slip road to re-join the A40 St Clears (Westbound). Proceed along the A40 St Clears for a distance of 6.6km to the junction signposted Llangynog. Turn left at the junction and proceed along the Class III road to the junction adjacent to the Llangynog village sign. Turn right and continue for approximately 5km passing properties known as Eithinman, Derlwyn and Ty-Canol Farm to the junction signposted St Clears. Turn left and proceed along the Class III road leading to the A40 St Clears to return to a point south of the closure.
The Order will continue in force until works to install underground cables, carried out by National Grid, have been completed.
It is intended that the works will commence on Monday the 18th of November 2024, until Friday the 20th of December 2024.
Where appropriate temporary Road Traffic Regulation Orders may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months.
