The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpath 23/27 (Part) Llansteffan, Carmarthen) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2024
Reference: NFD/HTRW-840
NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council on the 23rd day of October Two Thousand and Twenty Three made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian traffic from proceeding along that length of footpath 23/27 extending from its junction with the Class II Road 4312/High Street and continuing for a distance of approximately One Hundred and Forty Three (143) metres in an easterly direction terminating at a point to the rear of Number 12 Glan-y-Mor.
The closure is required until works to improve the footpath have been completed.
The Order came into force on the Nineteenth day of October Two Thousand and Twenty Three and was due to expire after a period of six months, but the works above described affecting the length of Footpath 23/27 (Part) hereinbefore referred to have not yet been complete therefore under authority of the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, one of the Welsh Ministers has pursuant under Section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991) consented to extend the closure. The continuation of the Order, by the said direction, will mean that the Temporary Closure Order will continue in force until and including the 31st December 2024 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. Any further extension will require the consent of the Welsh Ministers.
The Alternative Route for west bound pedestrian traffic from the eastern side of the closure will be to proceed along Footpath Number 23/27 in an easterly direction for forty-one (41) metres or thereabouts to its junction with Glan y Mor. Turn left at the junction and travel in a general north easterly direction along Glan y Mor to its junction with Water Lane. At the junction turn left and continue along Water Lane to its junction with the Class II Road 4312/High Street. Turn left again and proceed for approximately One Hundred and Nineteen (119) metres in a southerly direction to return to a point west of the closure.
Visa versa for east bound pedestrian traffic.
