The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpaths 30/120 (Part), Ffos Las, Carway) Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2019
Reference: RWJ/HTRW-757
NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council on the fifteenth day of August Two Thousand and Nineteen made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian traffic from proceeding along that length of footpath 30/120 at Carway extending from the southern end of Mayford Lane where it adjoins Bridleway 30/127 for a distance of approximately 220 metres in a northerly direction.
The closure is required due to works being undertaken in the vicinity of the footpath which upon completion will necessitate the diversion of the footpath pursuant to section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
The Order came into force on 22nd August, 2019 and was due to expire after a period of six months but was extended with the consent of the Welsh Ministers and is now due to expire on the 21st February, 2021. The works affecting the footpath above described have not yet been completed and the Minister for Economy and Transport and North Wales has pursuant to section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 consented to extend the closure by a further period of 6 months.
The continuation of the Order, by the above said direction, will mean that the Temporary Closure Order will continue in force until and including the 21st August, 2021 or until the works are completed and the footpath diverted whichever is the sooner. Any further extension will require the consent of the Welsh Ministers.
The Alternative Route for south bound pedestrian traffic from a point north of the closure is to proceed in a northerly direction along Mayford Lane to its junction with the Class II Road B4317. Turn right at the junction and continue along the B4317 in a generally easterly direction to its junction with Bridleway 30/122 located opposite Capel Bethel. Turn right and continue along Bridleway 30/122 in a southerly direction to its junction with Bridleway 30/127. Turn right again and travel along Bridleway 30/127 to return to a point south of the closure.
Vice Versa for north bound pedestrian traffic.
