Carmarthenshire’s Destination Management Plan

The current Destination Carmarthenshire 2015-2020 plan addresses the vital role tourism plays in the economy and set a strategic direction for the County as a visitor destination. Produced in consultation with major tourism stakeholders, it is regarded as a shared statement of intent between the public, private and third sectors on how to manage, develop and promote the County.

The Plan capitalises on key opportunities for Carmarthenshire and the overall growth target - set by Welsh Government - of 10% or more in the sector’s value by 2020.

The vision is “to develop a prosperous visitor economy in Carmarthenshire based on its unique strengths and character, which generates higher spend and local income enhances its image and reputation and improves the quality of life for local communities”.

This plan is about defining what the county wants from tourism, renewing the way we work together, converting our assets into memorable experiences for visitors, and making sure visitors know about what we can offer.

'Destination Carmarthenshire 2015-2020' is now in its final year and will be reviewed in line with the findings from the 2019 visitor survey, Council Corporate Priorities as well as the new Welsh Government priorities for the visitor economy as highlighted in their 'Welcome to Wales' 2020-2025 plan.
