Corporate strategy 2018-2023 (Updated April 2021)

Equality and Diversity

We have developed a Strategic Equality Plan 2020-24. This strategic plan sets out the principles of our commitment to equality and diversity as well as outlining our objectives and how we intend to fulfil our responsibilities and ensure that we follow our principles through into practice. These objectives focus on:

  1. Being a leading employer
  2. The needs and rights of people with Protected Characteristics shaping the design of services
  3. Safe and Cohesive communities that are resilient, fair and equal
  4. Improving access to our services and access to our environment.

We will fulfil these objectives ensuring we fully take account of our duty under the Equality Act 2010 to the following protected characteristics:

  • Religion and belief
  • Marriage and Civil Partnership
  • Sex
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Pregnancy and maternity
