Welcome to my first blog as Chair

What a start to my year in office. Due to the sad situation surrounding Covid-19, the normal installation ceremony could not be held in County Hall this year, but had to be held remotely instead. This meant a lot of work by a lot of people to ensure that the meeting could go ahead, and a bit of apprehension on my part. I shouldn’t have worried. It was different, but the fact that some of my friends and relations were able to appear via video link, sending me their best wishes was a nice surprise. It will be a different year ahead.

I am hoping to be able to raise money in different ways this year for my charities, which are Prostate Cancer and St Peter’s Church, Llanybydder. Some ideas I have already had are a sponsored walk, selling items on-line and a Flower Festival in the Church in December. This is a work in progress, so watch this space.

I am glad to see that our Schools have re-opened, and I had the privilege of visiting Llanybydder School a few days before they re-opened to see the excellent work carried out by so many to ensure the School is safe for our children to return to some form of normality.
