Project Overview
This project includes providing Ysgol Y Castell with a replacement 300 pupil, English medium primary school to cater for 270 primary and 30 nursery pupils with additional space to provide Early Years care. The new build facility also includes provisions for community use including a car park, sports pitch, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and associated landscaping and infrastructure works. The investment is being completed over two phases.

Contractor Update
Phase one (completed in November 2022) provided a new state of the art 21st century school building and facilities which will be of great benefit to staff, pupils and the wider community.
Highways works associated with the project were also completed prior to occupation.
Pupils occupied their new school for the first time on Wednesday, 9th November 2022.
The second phase of the works due for completion in Summer 2023 will include the demolition of the existing building, creating of playing fields, Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and space and provisions for community use.
