Primary School Investment

Since the commencement of the Modernising Education Programme in 2001/2002 to the end of 2017/2018, a total of £274million has been invested in Carmarthenshire's schools, which include the completion of the following Primary School projects:

  • 10 new Primary School buildings: Peniel Community School, Ysgol Bro Brynach, Ysgol Y Bedol, Bryn Community Primary School, Ysgol Bryn Teg, Ysgol Gymraeg Brynsierfel, Ysgol Gymunedol Ffwrnes, Ysgol Carreg Hirfaen, Ysgol Gymunedol Trimsaran and Ysgol Pen Rhos.
  • 38 major remodelling, refurbishment and extension projects
  • Other minor investment and interim works

Investment is continuing in a number of Primary Schools across Carmarthenshire which includes Ysgol Gynradd Pum Heol who are to receive a replacement school building, Ysgol Gynradd Llangadog who will receive an extension and major redevelopment works and Ysgol Gynradd Pontyberem who will also receive major redevelopment works.
