As part of the authority’s Modernising Education Programme Ysgol Gymraeg Parc y Tywyn received a new £9.6 million school, jointly funded by the Welsh Government through its 21st Century Schools Programme.

The school which is located near to Burry Port Harbour uses Welsh home grown timber as the principal structural material, and locally sourced softwoods provide the majority of the external rain cladding.

Pupil’s moved into their new school on Monday July 9th 2018 and from September 2018 the school was able to offer part time local authority nursery provision.
