Ffwrnes main house, auditorium

The main house is a flexible space that can be a 504-seat traditional theatre, but it has hydraulic retractable seating that hides the seats away leaving a flat open floor.

Stiwdio Stepni

Stiwdio Stepni, can seat up to 100 people, and is used for smaller shows, comedy club, literary events etc. The seating is very flexible and can be arranged in cabaret style or traditional style, amongst others.

Ffwrnes Fach

Ffwrnes Fach is housed within the old Zion Chapel (built in 1857), it has a pipe organ, a church-style seating gallery, and a pulpit.

Ffwrnes Theatre is a ten-year-old state-of-the-art modern theatre with four spaces. The main house is a flexible space that can be a 504-seat traditional theatre, but it has hydraulic retractable seating that hides the seats away leaving a flat open floor. This can then be used for cabaret-style seating or an exhibition space etc. The seating is upholstered in green or orange. There is a motorised fly tower and ACS acoustic reflectors. There is an orchestra pit for a 30-piece orchestra, which can be turned into 60 further seats when an orchestra is not needed. There are also circus rigging points. There are several pianos in the building, including a Steinway. There are nine dressing rooms of various sizes.

The smaller space, Stiwdio Stepni, can seat up to 100 people, and is used for smaller shows, comedy club, literary events etc. The seating is very flexible and can be arranged in cabaret style or traditional style, amongst others.

The Crochan is a very flexible space that can be used as a rehearsal or teaching space, for conferences, or for film screenings. It has built-in AV equipment.

Ffwrnes Fach is housed within the old Zion Chapel (built in 1857) and is currently rented out to the social enterprise, People Speak Up. It has a pipe organ, a church-style seating gallery, and a pulpit.

Parking: There is a pay-and-display car park next to the theatre, and a small staff/crew car park at the back of the theatre with a loading bay.

Catering: There is a café with kitchens and a comfortable seating area. The rehearsal/conference space (Crochan) is a large space that has also been used as for catering purposes. There is also space in the car park for a catering van/lorry.

Filming restrictions: Official opening times are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (office) plus 10am to 2pm on Saturdays (box office only), plus all shows. However, we can be very flexible if filming is required.

Drone restrictions: None

The main house is a state-of-the-art theatre with hydraulic retractable seating and a motorised fly tower. The main part of the theatre was built in 2013. The smaller part of the theatre (Ffwrnes Fach) is the refurbished old Zion chapel, which was built in 1857 and has a pipe organ.

The Zion chapel part of the building was listed Grade II in 1992.
