Adding a joint contract-holder

As a contract-holder you may add another person as a joint contract-holder under your occupation contract (tenancy). You must have our permission to do this.

We may not unreasonably refuse permission, but we can give permission subject to conditions, as long as they are not unreasonable.

A new joint contract-holder can be added without having to end the current contract and start another one.

When a person is made a joint contract-holder, they become entitled to all the rights and subject to all the obligations of the contract from the day on which they become a joint contract-holder.

If you would like to add a person as a joint contract-holder, then please complete the Request for Information form. We will then investigate your request.

We will let you know our decision as soon as possible.

Removing a joint contract-holder

A joint contract-holder can withdraw or resign from a contract at any time by giving us 4 weeks’ notice in writing.

A joint contract-holder can leave a contract without the contract ending for the remaining joint contract-holders.

When a person withdraws or resigns from the contract, the remaining joint contract-holders become fully entitled to all the rights and fully liable for the obligations of the contract.

If you would like to withdraw or resign as a joint contract-holder, then please complete the Withdrawal Notice to Landlord form.
