Carmarthenshire Libraries have a dedicated School Library so that you can borrow books for your class for your termly theme in English and in Welsh? Once you have made your selection we will deliver and collect your books to school at the beginning and end of each term?

Book Selection:

The service supports the new Curriculum for Wales Framework and reflects changing content ensuring well-maintained stock that’s fit for purpose, relevant and vibrant. Our wide range of non-fiction books support the pupil’s learning from Australia to Zoology. Our high-quality fiction books support reading for pleasure, and it has been proved that having access their own books have had a positive impact on children’s attainment. Class readers are also available for popular junior fiction titles. We also have a selection of Dyslexia friendly fiction. Just let us know when you order.

How do you make a request for a school library delivery?

The preferred method is to access our online form to place your request during the last week of term or the first fortnight of term. If you’re unable to access the online form requests can also be made through direct e-mail. Books are delivered to your school and automatically renewed during the term. Books will be collected for return to the library during the last week of term. New requests can also be placed at the same time.

What are the benefits?

This a FREE service available for schools all over Carmarthen. New titles are regularly added to create a comprehensive and relevant service. Many schools have joined the service with very positive feedback and are returning to use the service term after term. We do hope that you will take advantage of this fantastic free service and that Carmarthenshire libraries can support you as a school every term.
