The County Of Carmarthenshire (Public Footpath 34/48 Pontardulais Road, Llanedi) Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrian Traffic Order 2023
Reference: HD/HTRW-831
NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council on the fifth day of May Two Thousand and Twenty Three made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian traffic from proceeding along that length of Footpath 34/48 extending from Pontardulais Road, Llanedi for a distance of approximately forty three (43) metres in a general south-easterly direction to Derlin Park.
In the interest of public safety the closure is required until works of replacing an unsafe wall along the length of Footpath 34/48 have been completed.
The Order came into force on 8th May, 2023 and was due to expire after a period of six months but the works above described affecting that length of Footpath 34/38 hereinbefore referred to have not yet been completed therefore the Deputy Minister for Climate Change, acting under the authority of the Minister for Climate Change, one of the Welsh Ministers has pursuant to section 15(5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 consented to extend the closure by a further period of 6 months. The continuation of the Order, by the said direction, will mean that the Temporary Closure Order will continue in force until and including the 7th May, 2024 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. Any further extension will require the consent of the Welsh Ministers.
The Alternative Route for southeast bound pedestrian traffic is to proceed in a north easterly direction along Pontardulais Road for a distance of approximately eighty-eight (88) metres, to its junction with Derlin Park. Turn right at the junction and continue in a general south westerly direction along Park Derlin to the first junction on the right-hand side, being a cul de sac. Turn right at the junction and advance in a north westerly direction to return to a point southeast of the closure.
Vice Versa for northwest bound pedestrian
