Bws Bach y Wlad: Connecting Rural Communities in North Carmarthenshire
Bws Bach y Wlad is a village hopper-style service operating five days a week, offering affordable travel with free concessionary fares and discounts for young people. Initially focusing on Llanybydder and Newcastle Emlyn, the service aims to improve access to employment, education, healthcare, and shopping, addressing the decline in scheduled services in these areas.
In partnership with Dolen Teifi, the project ensures a seamless and efficient network without duplication. Funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, this scheme demonstrates Carmarthenshire County Council’s commitment to enhancing rural connectivity, supporting local growth, and improving access to vital services across West Wales.
