Group Riding and Touring
Page updated on: 23/10/2024
For many, riding as a group is a big part of a motorcyclist’s experience, whether with mates on a weekend morning ride or with an organised ride out.
The Group Riding and touring Modules is an extension to Dragon Rider, which is approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Enhanced Rider Scheme. The module is delivered by experienced and qualified motorcycle instructors who are accredited by the DVSA Register of Post Test Motorcycle Instructors.
The course has two parts to it. An evening workshop, that takes place online via Microsoft Teams, followed by a full day on-road session throughout the county and neighbouring authorities’ roads. The training ratio will be one instructor to a maximum of four riders for the on-road element.
There are many topics covered in this course, including, Tour planning and organising, carrying a passenger/load, setting off, dealing with a breakdown, manual handling & slow manoeuvring, group riding, urban/rural/motorway/dual carriageway riding and overtaking & filtering.
If you carry a pillion passenger, they are encouraged to attend both elements of the course too.
How much does the course cost?
