Gary Evans Builder

Gary Evans Builder is a newly established construction business and commenced trading in April 2025. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, the proprietor Gary Evans brings a wealth of expertise in both residential and commercial construction, including project site management.

The business operates in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, leveraging strong industry relationships, word-of-mouth referrals, and a growing social media presence to secure work.

The company has already lined up contracts from previous employment, ensuring a solid start. Gary Evans Builder aims to deliver high-quality construction services.

This business start-up has received £10,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity fund, for the purchase of a liquid screed machine. Receiving the grant has helped support Gary to set up his own business and to create 2 full time jobs.

Based on market research, there are currently limited amount of liquid screed providers in the area. As a result, the business would need to subcontract this type of work, increasing overall project costs and reducing profitability. By bringing liquid screeding in-house, the company can significantly cut expenses while also creating a new revenue stream. This strategic move not only enhances cost efficiency but also strengthens the business model, making it more competitive and attractive as a start-up. Expanding the service offering in this way ensures greater control over project timelines, quality, and pricing, ultimately positioning the business for long-term success. The company also provides the traditional building work for commercial and residential customers.

Gary said “Receiving the start-up grant has enabled me to purchase a screed pump that otherwise would have been a few years down the line, therefore helping me to deliver projects on time alongside cost savings by doing the work in-house”.
