Supporting Tourism
in Carmarthenshire
Destination Management
From planning to highways, to running country parks to leisure centres, we are major stakeholders in the visitor offering of the County. We also support increasing the awareness of the county as a year-round visitor destination by delivering marketing campaigns that support the actions of Visit Wales, Visit Britain and individual operators.
In the last 10 years, our work has generated over £2 million in advertising media value, reaching an estimated 100 million audience. Our recent 25-26 campaign, Sisterhood, involved over 70 local partners, full-page articles in Guardian and Daily Mail newspapers and digital adverts reaching 4 million people.
Our marketing aims are to get more people to 1) visit, 2) stay longer and 3) spend more locally. Our own resources have been boosted in the last few years by gaining external funding from UK and Welsh Governments and by working with major stakeholders such as CADW and GWR.

Actions for 2026-2027
With funding support from UK Government Local Growth Fund, our tourism development team will target those interested in an overnight stay, that enjoy quality food and drink in a culturally rich and naturally stunning area. They will enjoy the great outdoors and likely be within a 3.5hr drive time.
We will promote new experiences and the people behind them giving us a chance to showcase the variety, authenticity and friendly welcome visitors receive as well as any activities which are on trend. We shall create exposure by maximising established annual dates such as school holidays, Halloween, Xmas, New Year resolutions and Valentines as well as the role our tourism ambassadors make across the community.
Marketing will include digital adverts, public relations and collaborating with influencers and micro creators whose audiences align with our positioning.
We shall also be assisting accommodation providers by providing ready to use free high-quality season-specific images, videos, text and graphics, ensuring they have access to the latest news and what happening to attract guests
