Cilymaenllwyd Footpath Restoration
Project Applicants: Cilymaenllwyd Community Council
Anchor Programme: Sustainable Communities
Location: Cilymaenllwyd
There were many public rights of way footpaths within the community of Cilymaenllwyd that had become obstructed and unwalkable.
The community already had a strong volunteer base who had started to clear many of the footpaths, however some of these footpaths are so obstructed that they were impassable and required appropriate equipment and a contractor to clear. Once cleared, these footpaths have reconnected the communities in the Wenallt Valley and restored walking infrastructure between many villages.
During the project 10 paths were cleared and over 10,000m² of land improved with the help of over 40 new volunteers.
