Garreglwyd is located in the village of Drefach, not far from Carmarthen, Llanelli, and Cross Hands. A vibrant and welcoming place, where you'll find friendly staff ready to support you and ensure your safety and happiness.
Garreglwyd is a partnership established between Hywel Dda University Health Board, Carmarthenshire County Council Education and Children’s Services Departments.
Garreglwyd can support up to 5 children/young people aged between 11/19, the service is for those with complex needs as a results of Autism/ Severe Learning Disabilities. We will support young people in their transition from school into Further Education and adult life.
The service at Garreglwyd will ensure children/ young people who’re no longer able to live at home and require care and support can continue to live close to home, keep contact with their families and have their health, educational and social needs met within Carmarthenshire.

From the moment you arrive, you'll meet our enthusiastic staff who are eager to get to know you and help you settle in. You'll also have the opportunity to meet other young people living here who are excited to welcome you into our community.
At Garreglwyd, we provide a comfortable and homely environment where our residents can relax and thrive.
The lounge is a communal area where residents can socialize. There is comfortable seating, a TV, music and a Nintendo Wii for entertainment.
We encourage our residents to learn to cook. Preparing their own meals encourages independence and confidence. Other cooking activities will be available, based on residents' interests.
The dining room is a safe space where residents can engage in conversation, practice life skills and bond with fellow residents and staff.
The bedroom is our residents' personal sanctuary. We encourage residents to decorate their rooms to reflect their individual style. We work with residents and their parents to ensure it feels like home.
Whilst residents may share a bathroom, at Garreglwyd we ensure everyone has their own space for toiletries. Comfort and privacy are important to us, and we strive to accommodate every residents' needs.
Garreglwyd boasts beautiful views of fields and trees, providing a serene backdrop for outdoor activities. From a park with swings and a climbing frame to a tranquil decked area, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air.
We want residents' time at Garreglwyd to be enjoyable. Before any arrival, we will work to create personalized planners that outline daily activities, meals and bedtime routines.
Whether you enjoy swimming, horse riding, or arts and crafts, Garreglwyd support and encourage our residents to pursue their interests, and to explore new activities, in a safe and supervised environment.
