Under the Freedom of Information Act, individuals have the right to request information from public authorities. We have interpreted ‘public toilet’ as our stand-alone buildings for public toilet use only. These details do not include additional public accessible toilets such as those situated in leisure centres, libraries, country parks, markets, etc….
Currently there are 18 public conveniences operated by Carmarthenshire County Council.
There are an additional 27 public toilets managed by Community Councils across Carmarthenshire.
All 18 standalone public toilets operated by the County Council are accessible.
10 out of 18 charge 20p for admission.
The revenue contributes towards the running costs of the facilities. The revenue generated does not cover the cost of running the facilities.

We have asset transferred 22 public toilets during this time.
There are currently no policies in place, however all our accessible toilets are available for use and marked on our In my Area map . A total of 76 toilets are listed on this map which are either managed by CCC, Community or Town Councils, Businesses or Organisations.
18 stand-alone public toilets, 28 accessible toilets in council owned/run buildings, 27 managed by Community or Town Councils/Organisations, 3 businesses.
Following the public consultation in January 2025, the proposal to close public conveniences has been removed from the 2025/26 Budget Proposal. Meaning Carmarthenshire County Council public toilets are not currently at risk of closing.
