RVE Commissioned teaching and learning resources

The regional SACRVEs of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Swansea successfully secured funding to develop a suite of bespoke RVE resources to support the implementation of their Agreed Syllabi. The resources have now been completed and are currently being translated into Welsh and English. Designed to be non-prescriptive, they provide teachers and schools with the flexibility to adapt and tailor the learning to their own context, curriculum and learners. Feedback from across Wales has been overwhelmingly positive, with teachers reporting increased confidence in delivering RVE, improved learner engagement, and greater support for enquiry-led, inclusive and meaningful learning experiences.

The commissioned RVE resources have had a significant, positive impact on schools across Wales, strengthening teacher confidence, supporting curriculum development and making RVE more engaging, inclusive and enquiry-led. Teachers report improved learner participation, richer discussions and greater opportunities for pupils to explore beliefs, values and worldviews in meaningful and relevant ways.

One teacher said:

The resources have supported us in making RVE learning more purposeful, relevant and engaging for learners. They have helped teachers plan opportunities for pupils to ask deeper questions, explore different viewpoints, and make meaningful links between beliefs, values, ethics and real-life experiences.”
