RVE Professional Learning Day for Primary Teachers: 10th March 2026

Based on the feedback from participants, colleagues were overwhelmingly positive about the professional learning day. The vast majority either agreed or strongly agreed that the training improved their knowledge, was relevant to their role, met their needs and was something they would recommend to others.

Participants particularly valued hearing directly from schools at different stages of their RVE journey, seeing examples of progression mapping and curriculum planning, exploring the use of Big Questions, and accessing the self-evaluation toolkit. The opportunity to network with colleagues and discuss practice across schools, was also highlighted as a significant strength. Many respondents commented on the generosity of schools in sharing their resources, approaches and experiences.

The feedback suggests that the day is likely to have a strong impact on practice. Most participants anticipated a significant positive impact both immediately and over the coming year, with many awarding the highest possible rating. Planned actions included reviewing and refining RVE curriculum maps, carrying out self-evaluation, strengthening progression across the curriculum, introducing or developing Big Questions, improving monitoring processes, and sharing learning with senior leaders and staff teams. Several attendees reported feeling more confident in leading RVE within their schools and left with clear next steps for future development.

Overall, the event appears to have increased participants’ confidence, provided practical tools and exemplars, and supported schools in identifying meaningful next steps to strengthen RVE provision and progression.
