Following a recent consultation, Welsh Government intends to take forward legislation to implement the proposal to maintain a sixth INSET day on an ongoing basis, and issue revised guidance to the sector, subject to ministerial decision after the 2026 election, by the beginning of the 2026/27 academic year.
