Education at Eto

Since September 2024 a Circular Economy Education and Events Coordinator has been in post at Canolfan Eto.  Nick Thomas, a former teacher, hosts school visits at the centre in Nantycaws, where pupils learn about and actively participate in the Circular Economy.

Students engage in a variety of hands-on activities including:

  • Repair workshops: Encouraging students to mend and restore items instead of discarding them.
  • Repainting & upcycling projects: Giving new life to old objects, sparking creativity and sustainability.
  • Food waste reduction with wormeries: Introducing an interactive, eco-friendly method of composting food waste using worms!

When schools can’t get to eto, we go to them, carrying out projects onsite and offering lesson plans for teachers.

Visits to the centre are also open to community groups who want to learn more about the circular economy. All sessions are offered in Welsh and English. To book a visit or find out more, please contact nick.thomas@cwmenvironmental.co.uk

We also run free activities on site during school holidays, follow us on facebook to find out more.

If you have items you wish to donate to Eto, this can be done at any of our recycling centres.
