How have the asset transfers worked?

Kidwelly Town Council

We are pleased to have accepted the asset transfer of the public toilet in Kidwelly from the County Council. We were able to secure additional funding for further improvements. Kidwelly Town Council’s new, modern toilets are situated at the Town Square, which has recently been refurbished as part of a 10 Towns initiative/collaboration between Carmarthenshire County Council and Kidwelly Town Council. The toilet block has a green roof which covers the two accessible, unisex toilets. The town council has agreed not to charge an entry fee, so the toilets are free to use.

Meidrim Community Council

The Public Convenience are now open more regularly, are better run and kept cleaner than previously. We are lucky to have a very good caretaker who we pay to clean and keep an eye on everything.

Crazie Crepes Café

Crazie Crepes Café located at Burry Port Harbour was our first asset transfer to a local business. Previous to the Crazie Crepe Café was a toilet block. Unfortunately due to extreme levels of vandalism on an ongoing basis Carmarthenshire County Council had no option but to close the facility. Later, the facility was transformed into the now successful Crazie Crepes Café. The asset transfer was agreed under the condition that an outdoor public toilet would be available to the public.
