Public Toilets Asset Transfer Opportunity
Due to ongoing budget pressures and the need to ensure long-term sustainability, the Council is reviewing the current public toilet provision and exploring a range of future options. These financial constraints stem from a combination of reduced funding from central government, rising costs, and increased demand for essential services. As a result, the Council is actively exploring options of transferring assets.
An asset transfer involves transferring land or buildings from the Council to a local organisation or business. This process empowers local communities, giving them greater control and encouraging pride of place. Local management often results in lower overheads and better value for money due to extensive use of volunteers and local knowledge.
We have successfully transferred public conveniences to local Town or Community Councils as well as local businesses. Find out how this opportunity has positively impacted communities below. If any of these stories inspire you to apply, please complete an expression of interest form.
