Apply for a full-time primary school place (4-years olds)
Page updated on: 03/12/2024
This page is for full time Primary (4-year old) applications only. We only accept applications for schools in Carmarthenshire, if you are applying for a school in another County, please contact them directly.
At the age of 4-years old your child is eligible to attend primary school full time. However, you do not have to send your children to school until they are 5-years old, but many parents find this early start beneficial. We recommend that you contact the school you’d like your child to attend before you apply. Contacting the school and speaking to the teachers is a great way of knowing if you’re making the right choice for you and your child. Only once you have made an application and had confirmation from us that your child has been accepted, can your child start school.
Carmarthenshire County Council (CCC) is running an admissions co-ordinated pilot scheme with the following Voluntary Aided (VA) Primary schools. This means that parents will need to submit applications for the VA schools listed below using the CCC’s online application form in order of preference with any other Carmarthenshire school they wish to apply for. The outcome of the decisions will be sent to parents via the council’s system. The individual VA schools are their own Admissions Authority and will be responsible for making the decision to either offer or decline a place at their individual schools. Where additional evidence is required for religious grounds, parents will be asked to provide evidence directly to the VA school.
