Our Apprenticeship programme is now open!
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for extreme heat from Wednesday 24 June, with high temperatures forecast through the day and night.
Please take extra care; stay hydrated, watch out for symptoms of heat exhaustion and sunburn, and check regularly on vulnerable friends and neighbours.
If you’re thinking of taking a dip to cool down, please also be mindful of the risks of swimming in the sea, lakes and rivers. Watch out for yourself and others around you.
People are advised to make changes to their usual routines to cope with the extreme heat, and as a result our bin crews will be out earlier next week with collections starting from 5am instead of 6am. This includes garden waste and hygiene/nappy waste collections. Please put your waste out the night before, or before 5am on your collection day.
Enjoy the sun safely!

An apprenticeship is an opportunity to earn a salary, gain hand-on-experience and achieve a nationally recognised qualification while still able to access the benefits of working for Carmarthenshire County Council.
As an apprentice, you will be mentored by our experienced staff while also spending a portion of your paid time attending training with your training provider to help you gain the skills you need to complete your qualification. Our Amdani apprenticeship programme is for anyone 16 or over who are early in their career or looking for a career change, there is no upper age limit but there may be some restrictions or other entry requirements depending on the role you are applying for.
As an apprentice, there are opportunities to use your Welsh language daily through conversations with customers and your team and undertake your learning bilingually.
