Carmarthenshire County Council is offering a range of exciting apprenticeship opportunities starting in September 2026.
As an apprentice, you will be mentored by our experienced staff while also spending a portion of your paid time attending training with your training provider to help you gain the skills you need to complete your qualification. Our Amdani apprenticeship programme is for anyone 16 or over who are early in their career or looking for a career change, there is no upper age limit but there may be some restrictions or other entry requirements depending on the role you are applying for.

Business Support Apprentice x2
Join our Business Support and Commissioning Team and take the first step towards a rewarding career in administration. We're offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow as a Business Support Assistant.
As an apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience delivering vital administrative support across the Department for Social Services and Housing. From managing enquiries and producing reports to supporting team projects whilst completing a relevant qualification, you'll develop essential skills in a professional and supportive environment.

Business Support Apprentice (Law, Governance & Civil Service) x 2
Are you looking to join a fast-paced team to develop a career in Business administration? If so, this is an excellent opportunity to start a career in local government, gaining valuable workplace experience while working towards a relevant qualification.
You will work as part of a busy and professional Business Support team, providing administrative and clerical support across the Law, Governance and Civil Services Division. You will be supported by experienced colleagues to help you develop practical skills in a real working environment.
Finance Apprentice
Our Finance Team is looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, keen to learn and grow, and interested in pursuing a career in finance.
With a keen eye for detail and good analytical skills, you will play a vital role in managing public funds and supporting community services, all whilst having opportunities to develop valuable skills and qualifications, in a supportive and friendly work environment.
Apprentice Procurement Officer (Property Maintenance)
Kickstart your career in procurement, supporting how the Council sources goods and services for property maintenance.
You’ll develop practical experience in supplier management, contract processes, risk management and procurement legislation, while working towards a recognised CIPS qualification and helping ensure value for money and high-quality service delivery.
Civil Engineering Apprentice x 2
Launch your career in civil engineering, supporting the design and delivery of infrastructure projects that benefit communities.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in CAD design, site surveys, drainage and highways work, while contributing to sustainable and low-carbon initiatives and completing a recognised engineering qualification.
Apprentice (Streetworks Inspector)
Kickstart your career in highways, supporting the coordination and licensing of road and street works.
You’ll work closely with contractors, utility companies and the public, gaining experience in legislation, compliance, customer service and data management while helping keep the road network safe and efficient.
Traffic Management Technician Apprentice
Join our Traffic Management Team and help deliver schemes that improve traffic flow, parking and road safety across the County.
You’ll gain practical experience in surveys, traffic regulation orders and stakeholder engagement, supporting both planned and reactive highway activities while working towards a recognised qualification.
Property Maintenance Cadet (Apprentice)
Join our Property Maintenance Team and gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of responsive and planned maintenance across a range of Council buildings.
From assisting with site inspections and preparing plans to supporting budgets and maintaining records, you’ll develop practical construction and property skills while working towards a Foundation Degree in Construction Management & Technology
Apprentice Passenger Transport
Start your career in Passenger Transport with Carmarthenshire County Council. Are you looking for an apprenticeship where you can work with data, people and real services? Join our Passenger Transport team and help keep communities connected.
You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting safe and reliable transport services, working with schools, transport providers and other partners. You’ll build skills in areas like data, reporting, contracts and digital systems. Your work will vary day to day, and you’ll be supported while working towards a recognised qualification.
We’re looking for someone organised, adaptable and keen to learn, with an interest in data, technology or public services.

During the recruitment day, we will be looking to find out more about you, your skills and your experiences.
