A social enterprise is a business that exists to make a positive difference in society.
Instead of focusing on profit alone, social enterprises reinvest their income to achieve social goals.
We provide opportunities for individuals who face barriers to training and work, including those with:
- Learning disabilities
- Physical disabilities
- Neuro-divergent conditions
- Mental health conditions
We help participants overcome barriers to volunteering and work by:
- Building their skills
- Helping them gaining independence
- Increase confidence
- Enhancing health and wellbeing
We ensure a person-centred approach creating a supportive, work-focused environment that builds on individual strengths.
If you are interested in attending Pottery and Woodwork sessions. You will need to discuss this with your social worker/care manager. You may then be offered a Care assessment – more information is available here on what happens during an assessment. How to get help
Following the assessment if you are eligible for services, you will be involved in updating your care and support plan this service will be included.
There may be a charge to this support service, you can get more information here: Paying for Care at Home.
You will be offered a financial assessment which will determine how much you will need to contribute towards your service.
Before your service commences you will have the opportunity to visit our services and meet staff to ensure that the service is suitable for you.
You do not need a social worker or a Care and Support Plan to be referred to access a volunteering placement, you simply need to have a barrier to work.
Once completed, email to: skillshub@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
We can also sign-post to other agencies if we are unable to help.
Once you are supported by us our key aims are individual outcomes and progression.
We will always set a review date and review personal objectives.
We will work with our Employability team, who support individuals to find volunteering and paid work opportunities.
Within our establishment in Crosshands we have small shop area selling products designed and made by our talented craftspeople. This is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm
