Recycling / bin collections

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Please place your bags out the evening before. Our collection times may vary and may be earlier than normal. We will be unable to undertake any missed bin collections at this time. Remember, please do not discard tissues in your blue recycling bags.

Please continue to visit our Newsroom for the latest information. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Your blue recycling bags and black bags are collected on the same day, but on alternate weeks. There is no limit to the number of blue recycling bags you can place out for collection. Your food waste is collected weekly. To help you recycle we provide the following:

  • Blue bags, green food bin and a brown caddy for your kitchen.
  • Black bags are not provided.

Remember you are allowed to put out a maximum of three black bags every fortnight, so it is more important than ever to recycle. If you are recycling everything you can but are still finding it difficult to keep to the black bag limit, you may be eligible to increase your black bag allowance. Complete our online form to apply for an increase to the black bag limit.

Black / blue bags will not be collected from wheelie bins for health and safety reasons. Please put your blue/black bags out for collection at the kerbside. We will collect from ordinary dustbins, as long as the waste is bagged.
