The role of parents

Parents have an important role in supporting the school’s policy on prohibiting the use of mobile phones and we encourage you to reinforce and discuss the policy at home as appropriate, including the risks associated with mobile phone use and the benefits of a mobile phone-free environment.

Your support is vital to the success of this policy.

We kindly ask that you:

  • Do not contact your child directly during school hours. Please call the school office if needed.
  • Speak to your child about the importance of safe and respectful phone use.
  • Encourage positive digital habits at home, such as screen-free family time.

Numerous studies link excess screen time to:

  • Anxiety and poor sleep
  • Reduced academic performance
  • Delayed social and emotional development

This policy is designed to address those concerns and support the health, safety, and success of all pupils.
