If a learner wishes to attend a school outside of Carmarthenshire they must apply for transport through the council to which they pay their council Tax. This will involve following that the specific council's guidelines and application processes.
Apply Online: Fill out the application form on our website by clicking the "APPLY ONLINE" button.
To ensure the learner has transport arranged by the start of academic year, please submit your application between 1st November and 1st June. If you submit your application after March we cannot guarantee that it will be processed in time for summer transition days.
Apply to the Correct Authority: Make sure you apply to the local authority where you live.
Assessment: Our Passenger Transport Unit will review your application after we have confirmed the learners school placement. We will check to ensure the learner meets the eligibility criteria, and we will verify this information with the Council's Teachers Centre System.
Eligibility: We'll let you know if the learner is eligible for transport or not.
Transport Arrangements: By the end of August we will inform you about the transport arrangements and send you a bus pass (if applicable)
Late Applications: If you apply late, we can't guarantee that the transport will be ready for September. Late applications will be processed following the closing date; however, transport may not be provided from the learner's preferred or nearest bus stop and could be unavailable until after the October half-term.

Eligibility - We'll let you know if the learner is eligible for transport or not.
Transport Arrangements - We will inform you about the transport arrangements and send you a bus pass (if applicable) within 15 working days.
If you change your address or move schools, you will need to reapply for free school transport. Eligibility is based on the learner attending their catchment or nearest school, as well as the distance from their home to the school. If the learner currently holds a bus pass, please return it to help prevent any delays in processing your new application.
If the learner is staying at the same school and lives at the same address:
Complete the Contact Form, confirming their return to 6th form
If the learner moves to a different school and meets school transport eligibility criteria:
Submit a new application.
We encourage learners to inform us as soon as they know they will be returning to the 6th form.
