Volunteering

The Youth Justice Team is supported by volunteers from the community who act as members of a Referral Order panel.

As part of the panel, you will meet with children who have committed a crime and have been sentenced by a Youth Court, as well as their families and possibly the victims of their crimes.

Volunteering to work with our team will suit you if you are interested in supporting children who have offended or are at risk of offending. Volunteers receive full training, support and travelling expenses.

What makes a suitable volunteer?

  • You have an interest in and an understanding of children.
  • You live in or close to Carmarthenshire.
  • You have a few hours to offer per month.
  • You have personal skills you feel you can bring to the role.
  • You ideally have a driving licence and access to a car.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please call 01554 744 322 or e-mail yss@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
