Equality & Diversity
We have published our Strategic Equality Plan for 2020-24 which outlines how the Council will meet its responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and the Specific Duties for Wales.
Public bodies are required to have due regard to the need to:
- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct that is prohibited by the Act;
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not;
- Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
The plan includes information on our engagement work, the evidence which supports the development of our Equality Objectives and the actions for the first year of implementation.
