Mature Driver Course

The Mature Driver Course offers driver awareness sessions designed to help you stay confident, mobile and independent on the road.
This half‑day classroom‑based session provides a relaxed and informal learning environment, led by an experienced Driver Trainer. The session focuses on practical advice, up‑to‑date guidance, and discussion around driving safely as we get older.

What is the course all about?
- Helping you drive more safely for longer
- Understanding how the ageing process may affect driving
- Discussing your personal concerns now and for the future
- Identifying unhelpful driving habits you may have developed
- Updating your knowledge of the Highway Code
This course is not:
- It is not a test of your driving skills
- It is not a formal assessment
Mature Driver Review
There is an optional driving element to the course that all attendees are encouraged to do.
It will give you practical, one‑to‑one feedback on your driving. The fully funded IAM RoadSmart Mature Driver Review can be arranged following completion of the Mature Driver Course.
How much does the course cost?
The course is free of charge to residents of Carmarthenshire.
