Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 16 (A) As Amended By The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 The County Of Carmarthenshire (Special Events) (British Super Triathlon And Paratriathlon Series) (Temporary Traffic Management) Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Carmarthenshire County Council intend to make an Order to facilitate the holding of the British Triathlon and Paratriathlon Super Series (‘the Event’). The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from causing or permitting any vehicle including any unauthorised bicycles to proceed along:

1. That length of the Class II Road B4304 extending from Lliedi Roundabout in a general south easterly direction to its junction with Delta Lakes Roundabout;  
2. That length of road known as Copperhouse Road extending from Copperhouse Roundabout to its junction with Northumberland Road; and 
3. That length of road known as Northumberland Road from its junction with Copperhouse Road to its junction with The Avenue
between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. on Saturday 10th May, 2025

The Alternative Route for southeast bound traffic from a point north of the length of road specified in Article 1 above is to proceed in a south easterly direction from Lliedi Roundabout along Marine Street and Copperworks road to the junction with New Dock Road. Turn right at the junction and continue in a south easterly direction along New Dock Road and The Avenue to Machynys Roundabout. At the roundabout take the third exit and proceed along the Class II Road B4304 in a westerly direction to return to a point south east of the closure.
Vice versa for north west bound traffic.

4. That length of road known as Traeth Ffordd at North Dock from a point 80 metres west of its junction with Lliedi Roundabout for a distance of 140 metres in a westerly direction 
Between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. on Saturday 10th May, 2025 and between 6.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. on Sunday 11th May, 2025.

The Alternative Route for westbound traffic from a point east of the closure is to proceed along Traeth Ffordd firstly in a northerly and then north westerly direction before turning and continuing in a general southerly direction to return to a point west of the closure.
Vice versa for eastbound traffic.

The Order is necessary to enable the ‘British Super Triathlon and Paratriathlon Series’ to take place. 

The Order will not have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any of the roads to which the order relates or to any premises only accessible to pedestrians from such road. The Order will also contain exemptions for any motor vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes or for statutory undertakers attending an emergency, for motor vehicles used in connection with the event or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.   

The Order comes into effect on Saturday, 10th May, 2025 and will continue in force for the periods specified above.
